We live in a fallen world and it doesn't look like we can get back up!
Will these current chaotic and unpredictable days one day be referred to as the “good ol' days”? Sheesh, that’s a daunting thought.
So what should we do? Well, here’s one idea: whenever you have the opportunity, smile and be kind. I know that sounds too simple, but hear me out.
Oftentimes, the consequence of kindness and a smile is you’ll get a smile and kindness in return. It’s contagious. And by the way, who said consequence and contagious always have to be bad things? Make kindness a habit. Habits can be good too.
In 1 Thessalonians, Paul encourges with these words, “We urge you, admonish the idle, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with them all. See that no one repays anyone evil for evil, but always seek to do good to one another and to everyone. Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."
Little acts of kindness aren't so little these days. The impact and effect that your smile and kind words provide is priceless. For someone, it might be the only good thing that happens to them that day. So get out there and be exceedlingly generous with your smiles and kindness!
So true! (I also need a reminder that I've got a "lifeline" button I can push whenever I've fallen and can't get up!)
